Ottawa Vintage Clothing Sale: It's coming; are YOU?

It’s time for the Ottawa Vintage Clothing Show again, and I hope you’ve saved your pennies! This show
wowed me last time ‘round, as I raved on the blog.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Show, let me give it to you in a nutshell: picture a slew of vintage collectors and vintage shop owners, all together for one day. Picture every 80s prom dress you ever remember; picture every feather fascinator you can ever dream up; picture purses and boots and broom skirts and mid-century leather jackets. Picture all this in one room, and now imagine that you can buy it all. I took home several items last show, and every time I wear them, I get asked about them. There’s just something about vintage that can’t be reproduced.

The show details are as follows:
Date: Sunday November 10, 2013
Time: 10am-5pm (Ticket sales begin at 9:30am)
Admission: $10
Location: The Ottawa Convention Centre, 3rd floor, 55 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa, K1N 9J2
Parking: Rideau Centre/Convention Centre entrances located on Daly Avenue and Nicholas Street South
ATM (cash machines) at the front of the room
Change Rooms: Mens and Womens, because there’s goodies for everyone!

Whether you’re looking for a new autumn statement piece, or something for a holiday gift, you’ll be in the right place. Got bridesmaids and groomsmen to buy for? Look no further than the vintage mirrored compacts and hand-embroidered handkerchiefs. Do you have a Christmas or New Year’s party that calls for some glamour? Consider showing up in a 1920s fringed flapper dress, or a 1950s circle dress.

And it’s not just for the girls: my roommate last year went home with a rockabilly-style leather jacket that makes him look tough…except when he’s cuddling his kitty cat.

Easy gift giving: vintage brooches!

The vendors you’ll meet hail from Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and beyond; one trip to the show will save you hours of scouring all the various cities within a driveable distance. Save yourself the hassle: enjoy the shopping right here at home, in the warm and classy Convention Centre.

I hope to see you there! Just keep your hands off all the 1960s flower-power stuff. If it’s crocheted, IT’S MINE.
My fave purchase last show!
